Fair Trade Items are Back

Fair Trade Coffee Fundraiser Continues

A popular pre-pandemic program, Fair Trade raised enough money to cover the cost of our weekly after service coffee-social along with contributing to the UUCF general fund. The new version of this fundraiser will be handled on-line, with a target date for orders to be placed. The coffee should be available for pick-up the following Sunday, after service. Payment can be made to UUCF Special Events by check, or through the donate page on our website (UUCF Coffee & Chocolate Purchases), when the coffee is received. Sorry…no chocolate sales at this time.

The coffee comes from Dean’s Beans. It is organic and shade grown (good for the environment) and fair trade (from community owned coops). The coffee comes in either 1 lb or 5 lb bags and can be whole bean or ground (regular, coarse, or fine). The price is $13 for 1 lb of regular coffee, $14 for 1 lb of decaf coffee, and $57 for 5 lb. Dean’s Beans has a variety of different coffees. The coffee served after the Sunday service is Bird Watcher’s Blend (medium roast). Other favorites have been Ahab’s Revenge (dark roast with a high caffeine content), Thunder Mug (medium dark roast), Moka Sumatra (medium dark roast), Mexican Chiapas decaf, Hazelnut Dream, and Cold Brew (especially blended for brewing cold). We are hoping to get onto a regular schedule and place an order every other week, but this will depend on the level of participation. To participate send an email to (with coffee in the title) or a text to 301 606 6496. Tell us which coffee you would like, how much, and whether you want beans or ground.
