Mission Statement

To provide a child-centered and parent-involved preschool program based on the foundation of the Unitarian Universalist Seven Principles and a belief that the family should be involved in their child's development. This program for 3-4 year old children enhances the intellectual, emotional, physical, social and creative development of children within the preschool community.

Circle of Life Goals

  • To provide quality, ongoing, developmental and educational programming for 3-4 year olds in a weekday program.
  • To provide a network of support for parents of the 3-4 year olds involved within the CLC.
  • To keep costs down for families by having them fulfill duties normally fulfilled by paid staff.

Learning Style

At Circle of Life, we recognize that each child is individual and unique. We strive to meet our goals through play centered learning that can be tailored to each individual child's interests. We have a plethora of gender neutral, natural toys ranging from writing, through imaginative play, including early math skills and even sensory play. There is a heavy focus on outdoor play - lots of science and hands on nature exploration happens outside! Being outside in nature has been repeatedly found to be good for children physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially and we honor that. Circle of Life is the perfect place to make a mess while learning and simultaneously allowing kids to enjoy being kids.

Circle of Life is a fantastic facility where your child can experience rescuing a bug one day, learning about science through our "bubble lamp" the next, and even exploring the rice table indoors in between. You can feel safe with your child in our classroom as we use gentle problem resolution skills, completely environmentally friendly cleaning agents, and organic snacks. Should your child be apprehensive about being in a new setting, we welcome parents to join as much of the class time as needed to transition their child to a level of comfort with our program. We recognize every family has unique needs and we strive to support each family's individuality.

Circle of Life is truly a place where you child can learn about the world of which s/he is a part while still allowing their own unique interests and preference to guide them.
