Stargazing from an Observatory (Item 9)

Join me in my Orionis Observatory in Middletown for an evening of enjoying the beauty of the night sky. We'll use my 11 inch telescope (and maybe others) to look at stars, star clusters, galaxies, nebulae, and perhaps even the Moon and some planets if they're in the sky that night. This is a single night event and the date is fixed at Friday Dec 1st with a rain date of Saturday Dec 9th. If the weather does not cooperate on the primary or rain dates, I will discuss the structures of the Moon and Sun inside our home on the rain date. 12 Bidders.

A Day With the Bees (Item 14)

For Kids, elementary/middle school age. Learn about honeybees. We will suit up, open up a hive and discuss content and honeybee activity and Ed will answer questions. We'll then have a honey related lunch and do a bee related activity, such as making candles, lip balm, etc. Date TBD, a cool day with low humidity. An Evening with the Stars Spring (May 19th) will be a lovely time to visit our two observatories, enjoy the night sky, glimpse views of Saturn, Venus and the moon through telescopes. Learn how modern astronomy researchers gather data (it's not with the eyes....) We'll serve you desserts, beverages, wine. The observatories are in a field on a hill so be prepared to walk a bit. A Family Adventure on the western border (Item 271)

Western border of Frederick County, that is. Picnic lunch at the first monument to our first President. Climbing the stairs is optional, but the view is terrific on a good day.
